Hello Linsford Families,
We enjoyed a busy week with many extras on top of all the regular learning routines. Our school dance was well attended and enjoyed by many despite the snow and cold temperatures. The BGSD trustees and Mr. Cable (HR superintendent) came for a school tour and visit to learn about the highlights of our school.
On Friday, many of our students and staff enjoyed dressing up for beach day and our students had a fantastic swimming experience at the pool. Thank you to all the parent volunteers who offered their time for this event. It was truly appreciated!

BEACH DAY
Students and staff had fun dressing up for Beach day and participating in a fun swim at the LRC!
SPRING FLING FAMILY DANCE
Despite winter sneaking its way back in, there were many students and their families at our spring dance. We would like to send a big THANK YOU to the parent committee who organized the dance for us!
An EXTRA BIG SHOUTOUT of THANKS goes to DJ Aaron who donated his services and created an environment of top notch fun. Aaron also worked with his kids, and with a little help from AI, they created a really cool Linford Park song that everyone enjoyed. You can see some fun pictures from the event below!
FRESH COAT OF PAINT
Thank you Mr. Bernie for giving our main hallway a fresh coat of paint! It sure brightens everything up. We have been very fortunate to have our entrance, office, and a couple of hallways painted in the last year. Whenever Mr. Bernie from BGSD maintenance has some extra time, he comes and tackles one small space at a time for us. The students also enjoying talking to him in the hallway whenever he is around.
BGC - BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB
The BGC is considering expanding their program at LPS to include a before school program. Please answer our parent survey to indicate interest.
Here is a quick breakdown of information for the BGC (This is a DRAFT to provide some idea of what to expect):
Programming Hours:
7am-6pm for PD, Fall Break, Spring Break
7am-8:20am (to school bell) before school
3pm (last bell) to 6pm after school
Out of School Program Monthly fees:
Before School Program – $100.00
After School Program – $200.00
PD: $350/year (about 10 PD days a year)
Spring & Fall break camps: $140 for 4 days or $175 for 5 days
Maximum cost for utilizing the program at the LPS School Site: families will pay monthly if they go all-in: $370 (subsidy can cover up to $366/month for qualifying families once BGC becomes licensed)
GR. 5/6 BOYS FLOOR HOCKEY
Tournament: April 17 & 18: Gr. 5/6 Boys @ Corinthia Park School (Leduc)
Most practices will be at lunch recess, but there will be an after school practice on April 8 and 13 from 3:15 - 4:15. The tournament schedule was emailed out to families. The schedule can also be viewed HERE.
SCHOOL COUNCIL / PARENT FUNDRAISING (LPSPA) UPDATE
Please see the image below for a financial update and progress report on our playground and other fundraising efforts. We are eagerly awaiting news of our CFEP grant application. If successful, we are hopeful for a fall build for our new playground. Stay tuned for an update!
