Kindergarten programming is offered in English at LPS. Students attend a half-day class, either morning or afternoon (should numbers warrant an afternoon class). Kindergarten helps students transition from home to school, and helps children build important skills and behaviours in an inclusive, play-based environment.

The Kindergarten programs follow the Alberta Education curriculum, and topics consist of Language Arts and Literacy, Mathematics, Science, Phys. Ed. and Wellness, Creative Expression, and Personal and Social Responsibility.

Children who are 5 years of age by December 31 of the school year are eligible to attend Kindergarten.

If you have a child preparing to start Kindergarten in the fall, here is a list of resources for you to ensure you and your child are ready for the start of school.
