Hello Linsford Families,
It has been an incredibly busy and exciting start-up to the school year! We want to extend a very warm welcome to all of our new families, students, and staff members.
We are especially fortunate to welcome three additional teachers to our team this year:
Mrs. Layte – 1A
Mrs. Ziesman – 6A
Mrs. Hazzard – Flexible Pathways (Student Support)
We would also like to welcome some new support staff to our team:
Mrs. Kagi - 1A
Mrs. Jamil - 1/2B & Gr. 4
Mrs. Busenius - 1A
Thanks to these additions, we have been able to reduce class sizes to 20 students or fewer across most grades. To help support these smaller sizes, we have also introduced a combined class at every grade level, which provides excellent flexibility for positive social dynamics and peer groupings.
LPS is very fortunate to have the services of Miss Sydney Libbus who is our BGSD FSL (Family School Liaison) and Miss Taylor Berube who is our MHCB Success Coach. Miss Sydney is here 3.5 days per week to provide support to several of our students and we are thrilled to have her join us for many school events. Miss Taylor is here every Tuesday and she visits each class to work on various social emotional programming options.
We are also thrilled to get our Weekly Update started again! This update is your best source for school information and a link will be emailed out most Sundays. (We occasionally skip publishing on short or holiday weeks, but you can expect it almost every weekend!).
A Quick Reminder on Bus Lanes and Parking: Please note that parking in the Bus Lane is strictly limited to 8:35 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. This rule is vital for student safety and ensures that our BGSD buses and daycare vans have the space they need during peak drop-off and pick-up hours.

PLAYGROUND CONSTRUCTION UPDATE!
We are in the final stages of our new playground build and are looking for community volunteers to help us finish the project. We have tentatively scheduled September 25 and 26 for a work bee to spread the wood chips for both sites. These dates will be officially confirmed as soon as our final wood chip delivery is finalized.
We want to extend a sincere thank you to our Parent Fundraising Group and all the volunteers who have generously contributed their time and effort so far. Following the completion of the build and the official safety inspection, we will be hosting a Grand Opening Event, and everyone is invited to celebrate with us.

CHASE THE CHILL!
Linsford Park School is excited to partner with Penny & Jeanette, along with other sponsors, to host a "Chase the Chill" event for Leduc on October 24! You can read all the details about the event in the posters attached below!

Playground update:
We are thrilled with the steady progress of our new playground build. The construction team has made significant headway, and we are rapidly approaching our target completion date. We look forward to sharing the official opening details with our community very soon.
