April 12, 2026
Hello Linsford Families,
Thank you to all the parents who responded to our recent survey. Your input is essential to our planning process. Based on the results, 62% of parents were in favor of swimming lessons this year. However, due to concerns raised regarding the cost and the ability of students to finish a full level, we have decided to forgo lessons for the current school year. Our team will be looking into other options for the future. Please note that students will still get to enjoy a dedicated swim time at the outdoor pool at the end of the year.
This upcoming week is education week. The theme of "Public Education is: Every Child, Every Classroom, Every day" encourages us to celebrate the importance of each person in our education system. Education Week is a celebration of the power of learning and the people who make it possible. We are excited to have some guest readers who will be visiting our classrooms this week! We will also have a few featured school-wide activities that each teacher will do in the classroom.
We look forward to sharing pictures in our update next week! Have a great week!
Warmest Regards,
Mrs. Kloschinsky & Dr. Murtha-Toles

ASSEMBLY
We are continuing to work on Kindness and Leadership in our assemblies. This month we are adding another dimension of Teamwork to the mix. Students worked in their house (Olympic team groups) to do a couple of teamwork challenges. Some of our grade 6 students are taking turns to read the announcements and are doing an excellent job in learning how to be effective public speakers as part of leadership.
Congratulations to our students who won prizes today in our assembly as well.
We had two bonus prize winners for demonstrating excellent leadership skills.
MOCK COUNCIL
Our grade 6 students are learning about the democratic process and civic engagement as part of the decision-making process. They will be visiting the city of Leduc to do a mock council. They held their own election this past week. Congratulations to Hayes who is our mayor and to Jennifer, Noah, Landon, Lawson, Ella and Chrew who will be the council representatives.
