Hello Linsford Families,
It was a busy week with the added excitement of continued playground construction and the wood chip work bee, as well as the Terry Fox Walk/Run. As noted in the later portion of the update, we are extremely grateful to all who were able to help!
Verification forms: Please help us get these done! All students in Black Gold must have a completed form. **Verification Forms are available on your PowerSchool Portal. If you require assistance, please call the office.
Please encourage children to stay out of the fenced construction zone for the new playgrounds in the evenings and weekends. There have been a few children in the community who have wandered in and it is not safe! Until the playground has been fully inspected and clean up is done, no one is to be in the space or on the equipment in after hours. Thank you in advance for your help with this.

SAFE ARRIVAL ABSENCE REPORTING

TERRY FOX WALK/RUN
Our students and staff enjoyed a wonderful afternoon supporting cancer research by participating in our Terry Fox Walk/Run. All classes walked a couple of laps and then all students who wanted to run were invited to run as many laps as they could, while the others cheered them on. Thank you to all who participated and to all who donated!

PLAYGROUND CONSTRUCTION UPDATE!
Community and Kindness came together to help us through one of the last phases of our playground project. THANK YOU to everyone who came out to help with our wood chip work bee this past weekend. It was wonderful to see some new faces! Extra thanks to the tireless efforts of our playground committee parents who show up for all the things! And last but not least, special thanks to our Good Samaritan neighbour, Lance, who brought out his loader on Saturday to move some of our mountains of wood chips to strategic areas.
On behalf of LPS and the playground committee, we are GRATEFUL FOR YOU ALL. We didn’t finish, but the end is now in sight! Thanks again!
We are currently waiting for a couple more parts to arrive so our last two pieces can be installed. We need to finish the spreading of the wood chips, finish the removal of waste material, and landscape damaged areas of our field. Following the completion of these tasks and the official safety inspection, we will be able to host our Grand Opening Event, and everyone is invited to celebrate with us. We hope to share a date very soon!

CHASE THE CHILL!
Linsford Park School is excited to partner with Penny & Jeanette, along with other sponsors, to host a "Chase the Chill" event for Leduc on October 24! You can read all the details about the event in the posters attached below!

Playground update:
We are thrilled with the steady progress of our new playground build. The construction team has made significant headway, and we are rapidly approaching our target completion date. We look forward to sharing the official opening details with our community very soon.
