HALLOWEEN PARADE
What a fun Halloween day at LPS! Students, staff, and parents enjoyed our Halloween parade and the many fun costumes. Thank you to all who attended. You can watch a fun video below from this event:
PLAYGROUND GRAND OPENING
JOYFUL is the absolute best word that comes to mind! After 7 years of planning, fundraising, and waiting (and 2 long months of playing in an empty field while we watched our new playgrounds grow), our new Linsford Park School playground is officially OPEN! From the triple slide and merry-go-round to the maypole spinner, climbers, extra swings, and endless woodchip raking sessions, this bright, colorful play space was built with so much community love.
We would like to send out EXTRA THANK YOUs To: Chemco, City of Leduc, Rivercity Motors, and all of our other incredible sponsors! Additional special THANKS to: Tehl & Lee for leading the old playground deconstruction and donating equipment and to our Neighbour, Lance, for pulling up with a tractor to help us conquer those woodchip mountains! There are no words to express our gratitude to Carrie-Sam, Linnea, & Ali for pushing hard to bring this project home over the past few months!
Last, but not least, as shared in Carrie-Sam's & Ali's heart-warming speeches, we want to acknowledge Mrs. K, Dr. Murtha-Toles, our staff, parents, students, and community volunteers who spent countless hours spreading woodchips until every last inch was done!
To all of our fundraiser groups (past and present)—this dream wouldn't be real without your effort and dedication.
Turn your sound on to hear our custom AI-generated anthem about our epic journey (and yes, it features a special chorus about spreading woodchips)! Here’s to many years of joy, high-flying fun, and laughter for our students!
LEARNING AT LPS
We were very lucky to have some unique learning experiences at LPS this week. The Division I students worked with Miss Taylor (MHCB Learning Coach)to learn about Optimistic Octopus and our Division II students learned about the importance of picturing our thinking as an essential part of executive functioning with some BGSD OTs.
COOKING UP A STORY
Last Chance to Register . . . Event may be cancelled due to low numbers!
We are excited to work with our MHCB (Mental Health Capacity Building) coach, Miss Jenna, to offer a super fun family event called "Cooking Up a Story".
This is a special event where we provide the groceries and recipe for your family to cook supper together with us over a zoom meeting. While our suppers are cooking, we all get to share some of our favourite stories. We love when students offer to read a few pages form their favourite book as part of the experience.
Please consider joining us on November 4th. Supplies will be ready for pick up at the end of the school day and we will cook our suppers together from 5:30 - 6:30 pm.
You can register your family for the event at THIS LINK. It is available for the first 25 families and is completely free.
