    Hello Linsford Families,

Welcome to December. It has been a busy few weeks and with the holiday season just around the corner, please take note of a number of events and dates that will be happening at LPS.

We would like to thank everyone for their patience as our office team learns about Linsford Park School and the surrounding Community. We have had a bit of a bumpy start with technology, but things are slowly smoothing out and we look forward to some better efficiency on a number of information items for field trips, website, and communications.

Hot Lunch reminder: Don’t forget to place your Hot Lunch orders regularly. We post options 2-3 weeks in advance, and December orders are now available. Orders close five days before each Hot Lunch date.

Please be sure to check our website and calendar regularly to stay up-to-date on school information.

    Warm regards,

    Mrs. Kloschinsky & Dr. Murtha-Toles

    LPS Admin Team

Thank you to our Grade 6 leadership students who helped to plan some fun activities for the month of December. We hope many staff, students, and parents will join in and participate!

Our students and staff have been very busy preparing for the upcoming Christmas Concert-Sing-a-long evening. We look forward to seeing as many of our LPS families as possible at our event. We are tweaking the format a little bit to make our evening more of a family engagement evening. We have staggered and separated the grades into three groups to allow us to be less crowded in the gym.

    The format for the evening:

    • Each grade will come to the gym and sit with their parents during their identified time.
    • Each class will lead a song (we encourage everyone to sing-a-long).
    • Students will be called up front to join their class and lead a Christmas Carol.
    • Parents will be invited to come up to take photos of their child after each song.
    • Students will join their parents after their song and participate in the sing-a-long with everyone else.
    • **If you have children in multiple grades: we will be emptying the gym after each section. Families will simply leave and circle back in to join the next sing-a-long.
    • In between (and during the sing-a-longs) there will be hot chocolate and cookies that will be provided by our school council and parent fundraiser groups. Please enjoy time to visit with other families in between sing-a-long times and for a short time after.
    • Our Christmas Sing-a-long evening will end at 7:45 pm.

Pre-K parents: your event will be in the Pre-K classroom and Mrs. Culp will provide you with detailed information. You are welcome to join the rest of the school community for the rest of the sing-a-longs and for the family visit and treat time.

We are continuing our theme of RESPECT and Celebrating Differences. Students are learning about how to be mindful of their own differences and to celebrate each other’s unique qualities. To add to this, we will focus on the theme of Giving throughout the month of December.

Thank you to officer Agotnes for doing a special mini assembly with our grade 4-6 classes about the SADD (Students Against Drunk Driving) liquor bag campaign. Our grade 4-6 students will be creating liquor bags and you will see them in the second half of December at Mico’s Liquor Store. Thank you in advance to our LPS community for staying safe this holiday season.

Some of our grade 6 students did a fabulous presentation about the Grade 6 Food Bank Drive challenge and then hosted a Q & A with the remainder of the students afterwards. Thank you for a job well done and for making a positive impact in our community.

The following students are prizes winners from the assembly a couple weeks ago.
