We are excited to launch our new communication blog with you! Our version of the Principal’s Corner will be called the Leopard Leader News. This regular update from our Admin team will be sent out each Sunday.

In the Leopard Leader News, we will share school news, upcoming events, important dates, and other valuable information. This will be our primary communication tool, so please make it a habit to read each week’s update.

Our first few weeks at Linsford Park School have been wonderful, and we’re looking forward to getting to know all of our LPS families as well as the wider community. Thank you for the warm welcome!

    Warm regards,

Communication with our families is very important to us. Please CLICK ON THIS LINK to read about our school communication plan and all the ways you can connect with your child’s teacher or the LPS office team. We are always just a phone call or email away!

You can also find our COMMUNICATION information underneath the PARENT tab on our main website page. Please let us know if you have any questions!

Every Friday morning at 9:05 am, the students join Mrs. Kloschinsky in the gym for character education assembly time. Parents have an open invitation to join us if they are interested.

The students are currently learning about the theme of respect. They are also working on a sub-theme of acceptance and understanding other’s differences.

Students in grade 5/6 have been invited to try out for the LPS mini-basketball team. More information will be coming home very soon. Currently the students are just learning a routine and are doing shooting practices during the lunch recess on Mondays and Fridays. Mrs. Kloschinsky and Mr. Clayton are the coaches and they will send out additional information as soon as they have it.

We are excited to announce that our Hot Lunch program is up and running. You can see some details below.

Please CLICK ON THIS LINK (or click on the image below) to take you to our Hot Lunch Program page for additional information on how to set up your account and order Hot Lunch for your child(ren).

We will post dates for one month at a time and our Hot Lunch days will be on Wednesday this year. November’s dates are: Nov. 6, 20, and 27.

Staff and students will be dressing up on Halloween Day (Thurs. Oct. 31) and we will be having a costume parade in the gym at 1:00 pm. All parents are welcome to attend.

Many classes will be doing special activities to enjoy the day. We ask that you only send special food treats for your own child(ren) for the day and respectfully ask that families DO NOT send food treats for the whole class. This helps us maintain a safe environment for all students, especially those with allergies or medical needs.

Although Halloween is exciting for many and often a day filled with fun for some, it can also be a very difficult and overwhelming day for many of our children. Knowing this, we encourage our other students to be compassionate and mindful of their classmates who may be having a challenging day.

Staff and students will be dressing up on Halloween Day (Thurs. Oct. 31). Please remember that we have PK-Grade 6 students and some of our children are as young as 3 years old.

We encourage the following with our costumes for school dress-up:
    • Creative, fun and friendly.
    • Traditional children ghost and witch costumes.
    • Super-heroes and princesses.
    • Animated characters eg. Pooh Bear, Pokemon, Minion…
    • Fuzzy animal costumes.
We kindly ask that there are:
    • No missing body parts.
    • No bloody masks or overly significant bloody makeup.
    • No weapons.
    • No gory or frightening costumes.
    • No clowns like the one that is popular from the movie IT.

We will be having parent-teacher meetings on Wednesday, November 6. For some of our larger classes, the teacher may offer a time slot for families at another time. If this date does not work for your family, please let the teacher know.

In the next couple of days you will receive an email with information on how to sign up for a time digitally. Please watch for that email and let the office team know if you have any questions.

We have a Scholastic Book Fair coming very soon!

The Book Fair will be open for students to browse through and shop on Monday and Tuesday (November 4 and 5) during their class time. There will be an opportunity for parents to shop with their students during the parent-teacher meeting evening. The Book Fair will be open until 7:00 pm on November 6. If you would like a sneak peak at some of the featured book titles, please click on THIS LINK. Have a wish list? Look for one of these coming home soon.

If your family or friends eat at Boston Pizza, please consider saving your receipts and sending them into the school office. We are enrolled in a program that allows us to earn a small percentage back to support our school.

This section will become a feature that remains at the bottom of each weekly post. These are opportunities to connect with others in our community or to learn about programs/sports/camps etc that may be available.
